Happy New Year 2014 Resolutions, and Menu Plan for the week

Happy New Year 2014

This year 2013 was better for my family and me than 2012 so I am hoping 2014 is better than the year past.I sit here the last few hours and think of the year that was.
2013 was good, no one that I love and hold close left this world. My family had there health. We all did so good.No scares, no sickness.God blessed me in many, many ways large and small.

My New Years resolutions for 2014 are small and simple things that I think I can obtain,or at least I hope I can.
1.) To be more organized I mean I am not so disorganized that I don't know where my socks and underpants are... but I do need help in this area.

2.) To be better stewards of our money. To save more and be more conscious of our purchase.

3.) My relationship with my husband. Our children are all grown and it seems sometimes we have less time together than when our children were small. So many things we both allow to take our time away. This is something I really have to change.

4.) And it is real simple, but to make Judy a little better this year than the last year. For me my number one thing is to have more patients.

I hope for each and everyone that the year 2014 is your very best. That God blesses you and keeps you.

Thrift Store Finds Cross Stitch Haul and Cast Iron pan

I hope everyone had a Wonderful and Blessed Christmas. We had such a wonderful Christmas all of our children were to come home.We had a daughter fly in from San Diego and our other daughter was able to get time off from work to come home. Our other two children live right here in our town so for them it was not a problem. They are all grown now and the time we have all together in one year is very slim,so this time of year is so special.Family all together laughing and talking and sharing what is going on in each others lives.

I was able to hit a couple thrift store and found some finds.I live right on the state line so I go to thrift store in Maryland and Delaware.I hit our thrift store in Maryland and found a great haul of cross stitch leaflets.I got all the leaflets for $3.00.
This last picture is of the leaflets I will be keeping.

This haul had some great designers Sheepish Designs,Poppy Kreations,Holly House,Evermore Designs. And lots more. The other leaflets I will be selling on eBay.I did choose one I will start with to make.
It is Sheepish designs In the Meadow 101st exemplary..
I cant wait to start I am finishing up a cross stitch before I start this one.

I also found some other cross stitch kits that are not for me so I will be selling them also some really cute Christmas stocking kits. And quilt kits.
Last but not least I found a Wagner 10" cast iron pan.It was rusty and has not been taken care of.I will try to see if it can be saved.
I paid $5.00 not bad for our area.I do believe it can be save.Or at least I hope it can.I love cooking in a cast iron pan. From baking corn bread to frying just love them..

That's all for me tonight.Until next time.

Christmas at our house.....tree is up and Christmas has landed.

We got the tree early Saturday morning. We were at the tree lot at 8:30 Saturday morning. The two children that were able to go and pick the tree had to work early so we were trying to get it in before work.
We always go to the same Christmas tree lot it is a small place in Bethel Delaware called Jeff's Greenhouses.I remember going there, and our children being so small.I remember going to the tree lot and it taking us a hour to pick a tree. The candy cane faces and the singing on our way there so off tune.
This Saturday morning was a cold one and due to it being later than most years when we got there it seemed to me and the family the picking was small. We looked and talked and laugh. And we finally found it .I think it was the biggest tree we have ever picked but my family thinks no.
You see we live in a older home at we have 9 foot ceiling. And for as long as I have known my husband he has always thought the bigger the Christmas tree the better. He has raised our children to think the same thing. So when we go looking for Christmas trees it is the same every year the bigger the better.
And I tell you no lie my family picked the second biggest tree on the lot.The biggest one was sold or....we would have had trouble. No just kidding .
Saturday night we were able to put our Christmas tree up and decorate our home.
Before  we put the tree up hubby had to cut the bottom. We trimmed the bottom to what we thought would have the tree to fit into the living room. But when we got it inside my son had to trim the top.It was bending over, it made me think of Christmas Vacation. My son trimmed it and we were able to decorate it.
Here are some pictures of the tree and a couple decorations around the house.

I love Hallmark ornaments.Frosty Friends,Rocking horse,Noelville.And many more.

This is a picture of a ladder I have aside the tree with 2 Anna Lee elves going up the tree with Christmas tree ornaments in there hands ready to decorate.
Way back in the day my husband and I was looking at a open private house and it was right around Christmas,When we went into this one home in Maryland they had a ladder like this and it always stuck with me.So when I was able to find the ladder and elves I had to get them.I have had them for sometime now.But I truly enjoy them.

This is a display of our Santa's.The feather tree still is waiting for decorations.I have misplaced them.I hope to find them soon.

This is a display of our Snowmen in our living room.
Just a little Christmas around our house.I hope you enjoy.

Happy Friday,
I hope you have had a wonderful week.We have had a busy, busy week. It's that time of the year.I love being busy. This week for me was trying to get my eBay items listed.I have been buying things all through the summer to list on eBay at Christmas time.I also have been busy painting,I re purposed wood items that a lot of people don't like anymore into primitives and I also sell them on eBay which i do all year long. But between the both of them it has been crazy.I have enlisted the help of my hubby when he can.I hope the sales next week are good cross my fingers.

Today is December 6th and I have not put up one Christmas thing, no tree, no Santa no nothing so for us.Tomorrow Saturday we will be getting our tree we always get a live tree.So for me this weekend will be decorating the house and tree. Most years by December 1st tree is up, decoration out and planning out the season.I think for me Thanksgiving falling so late just threw me off course. How about you?

That's it for me.I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.
